Hi, my name is Heather Dooley. I’m from Appalachia, born in 1979, first-generation college student back in the early 2000s, residing in Philadelphia since 2007.
I work as an Art Model and Tour Guide. I’ve been freelancing since 2017.
My background includes work in community radio, door-to-door political fundraising, a non-profit call center, substitute teaching, and museum education.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Marshall University (2003) and a Master’s Degree in Education from Arcadia University (2011).
I write. Sometimes read at open mics around Philadelphia, where I’ve been a featured reader for Moonstone Arts, The Oxford Coma, and Random Name Poetry Series. I made a six-issue print mini-magazine called Spake in 2015-2017. I’ve published a handful of poems in journals and whatnot. My most recent writing is here on the blog on this site. My focus as a writer is just hoping that someone will read what I wrote and feel less alone.
You can book me as an art model or tour guide. Use the form below to get in touch.
